In Ireland, the use and regulation of chemical pesticides/rodenticide is overseen by the Pesticide Registration and Control Divisions (PRCD) of the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine. The PRCD ensures that all pesticides used in Ireland meet stringent European Union standards, which focus on safety for human health and the environment.
Our technicians receive regular training updates to ensure they are compliant at all times and their PMU number is dependent on the strict adherence of guidelines set out by the PRCD.
Elis Pest Control both in RoI and Northern Ireland advocate Integrated Pest Management (IPM) strategies which combines biological, cultural, physical, and chemical tools in a way that minimise environmental and health risks. IPM promotes the use of non-chemical methods as the first line of defence against pests, reserving chemical interventions for when they are absolutely necessary and in a manner that reduces their impact. By using sensor monitoring we are able to detect activity sooner and also pinpoint where activity is taking place and as a result have been able to reduce our rodenticide use by 74%.
Elis Pest Control is a member of CRRU ( Campaign for Responsible Rodenticide Use) the IPCA ( Irish Pest Control Association, the BPCA ( British Pest Control Association) and is also CEPA certified.
